TAKE IT EASY

The Team Sheet

A.C.T made an 11 hour trip to perform at this years ProgPower European Festival staged in the picturesque town of Baarlo close to the Dutch, German border.

The fans had also travelled from far and wide and we'd like to thank everyone for their great support before, during and after the show.

What You Had To Say

We had never heard of A.C.T. before - so much the nicer, they were for us one of the most positive surprises of the festival.

Whereas the Prog scene in general seems a bit deadlocked in mere strife for even more technical virtuosity or rather showing off, theses guys from Sweden have developed what many claim but
few have: a highly independent sound.

This sound quite unashamedly takes advantage of Latin rhythms, Beatleesk choruses, some dashes of reggae and those lovely children's tunes-passages that were characteristic of Frank Zappa's
output in the early seventies, putting all of this together to create something really individual.

Something individual that has got a lot to do with theatrics and comedy:
The singing hat bearer Herman at first sight comes across like a blonde Charlie Chaplin and is living that up on stage accordingly. Hilarious!

It is not really clear, what the dozens of hats are for that are carried on to the stage.
People close to the band tell us that Herman's got a hat for every state of mind and that the usage of those paraphernalia heavily depends on the reactions of the audience.

Compositions like "Take It Easy" (not akin or interrelated to that notorious laid-back counseling by Jackson Browne and the Eagles), groove monster like "Biggest Mistake", carousel music ground coarsely in hundreds of breaks like the unreleased "Situation" - all of these just waken the appetite for more.
